So like if your hyperfixation is sneakers and shopping for them, hooboy do I have a show (with FOUR SEASONS?!) for you. For the first 2/3 of this episode, the parts without Jeff, I was like “look, I’m not mad at this, but this is not for me.” Also, this must be what it feels like when I start talking about gin to people so simply do not care. But man, those dudes are very into sneakers. But then Jeff shows up at the 16 minute mark and as per ushe, he was absolutely lovely, even just talking about sneakers. Pleased to see that my two favorite Jeff movies (Jurassic Park and The Life Aquatic) both made sneaker appearances (the Zissou Adidas are perfect) and Jeff buying matching shoes for his family at the end, chef’s kiss. I would watch a whole feature length film of Jeff talking about sneakers. More episodes of The Life According to Jeff, please!!!

This show is exactly as advertised. They go sneaker shopping and talk about their life through their sneaker history. It’s like discovering a whole under ground subculture. In some ways this sneaker collection feels weirdly primal, like ravens with shiny rocks. Like there is so much depth here. If only we let men express themselves in different ways rather than have to yearn for self expression through colored rubber. Jeff bought shoes for his entire family and was deeply charming as everyone’s favorite grandpa.
